World Cup Tickets for the 2010 Soccer World Cup South Africa have finally gone on sale.

People from around the world can now apply for world cup tickets through the official FIFA website. This is the first round of ticket sales and the system is not a first come first serve basis. This means for a limited time fans will be able enter for a world cup ticket, after which a random draw will determine whether or not an application for tickets has been successful. Special tickets have been reserved for South African citizens at a reduced price.

This is quite different to the way the rugby world cup tickets were handled in the past but it looks like a system that might actually work well. Fans are advised only to buy tickets via the official FIFA.com website in order to be sure about their tickets being official.

There will be more phases where tickets will slowly be released to the public, many people will be keeping a close eye on world cup final tickets which will be the tickets that are in highest demand.

The World Cup has come and gone, and it seemed as if just yesterday that fans were looking everywhere just to get hold of some World Cup Tickets. Now this is all memories from what seemed to be one of the best events ever.

Finally after the Rugby World Cup 2007 fever and a long wait, the Super 14 Rugby Tournament has kicked off. This weekend all Super 14 Rugby clubs participated in Rugby matches. As for the Six Nations Rugby 2008 event in the Northern Hemisphere, there were no games played. The Springboks defeated Wales in Cardiff at the Milennium Stadium yesterday. The Rugby World Cup 2007 Champions put on a flawless show of great rugby - even though 13 of the winning team from last month were not in the starting lineup. Jake White has recently released his book In Black and White : The Jake White Story. The next game for the Springboks will South Africa Vs Barbarians on the 1st of December.
