Springboks of South Africa Take Charge of Group A after Defeating Samoa

The Springboks have kept their 1995 record alive of winning their opening game of the Rugby World Cup by 50 points or more. The Springboks put on a fair performance against the big side from Samoa.

Bryan Habana had a superb performance and scored 4 tries on the day, giving South Africa a bonus point. Jean de Villiers suffered from a torn bicep muscle and it seems as though he will be out of the Rugby World Cup 2007.

Brian Lima made his 5th international Rugby World Cup appearance for Samoa, making him the only player ever to compete in 20 years of Rugby World Cup tournaments.
