Well.. Grow a forward line and come back again in 4 years. Your team players comments were disgusting and you deserve to be dismissed. 3 missed penalties and you still can’t score a point in the second half. Tell me now - who has no ‘world class players’. Arrogance - sweet when you get stuffed don’t you think?

When it came to the crunch your forwards bottled it and got destroyed. Thankfully we had a referee today who could see from the off that the aussie front row were going down everytime under the SUPERIOR English pressure. Four years ago you did the same and had a ref that fell for your tricks, thats the only reason you stayed in touch til the end and we needed the feet of wilko to finish you off. Should have been a bigger deficit today, it was like men versus the boys.Have a long unhappy flight back home….

You Aussie morons: that’s what happens when you get so far up your in your own world, you fail to take the opposition seriously. ha ha ha: this moment is so priceless, and you really deserve every bit of the pain and humiliation you feel right now.

I loved seeing your captain crying his eyes out like a bloody baby. waa waa waa.

Now pack your bags and crawl back to Australia. lol

Show some respect u pommies. You have no idea making comments like this: “I loved seeing your captain crying his eyes out like a bloody baby. waa waa waa.” Stirling Mortlock is one of the best captains in the league with nick names like captain insano and line break king, find me an English player who can say they have the same reputation a. At least the Wallabies can play good rugby without having to rely on any single player, if it wasn’t for Jonny Wilkinson your team would be down the drain, wasn’t it just last week that South Africa dominated you. And I’d challenge any one of you to come forward and say anything bad about the Wallabies to their face about crying, so what, this is the last time Australia will ever be able to field a team like this, how would you feel if you were Stephen Larkham last match as a wallaby and he had to spend it on the bench. Show some self respect brits - you won, but you wow well shouldn’t of!

  18. Simon said,

    October 7, 2007 @ 1:37 pm

Jason’s right. Show some respect. Try not to sink to the depths that the Australian media and Rugby representatives do by always belittling everything about England, even to the point of explicitily expressing hate. It’s a sport. Yes, we beat the Aussies again. They cannot bear it but that’s their problem. They needed bringing down a peg or two and forced to eat their own poisoned words. Priceless !

  19. Andy in London said,

    October 8, 2007 @ 12:10 am

I agree - Jason is right. We need a bit of perspective. Arguably Australia are a better team at present, however they got outplayed yesterday - and it is incorrect to say we relied on one player to kick our way through it. In fact Wilko was average and did not lot live up to his own high standards. The victory was secured by the forwards. The rational Aussies have to to realise that a few idiots have been sounding off and of course people want to shove their words down there throats - it pleases me as an Englishman that we established why your idiot coach “hates” us - because we can be so good. When most people look at a picture of the globe we are at the center, write us off at your own peril.

I would have to say being an englishman living in Australia that there is nothing more satsifying than beating the Aussies , they are arrogant when the win and bitter when they lose.. I had to endure attitudes like our Australian friend Dom for 3 months when the Ashes were being played … We simply outclassed the Australian Side for the majority of the game , The Aussies didnt help themselves with their “this will be a foregone conclusion ” attitude… Maybe if you were so arrogant when you win , you might be able to cope with losing … Go England … I think we have already won our world cup simply by defeating Australia anything else will be a bonus !!!

Australia had better form and better players leading into the match but not on the day. All the talk about hating England was poor use of words, they should have been more accurate and said they hate loosing to England and love beating them. International sport should have the highest level of competativeness and there’s nothing wrong with players feeling passionate about the game, but I feel that Australia didn’t help themselves at all with their pre-match talk and deffinatly placed themselves on the low ground.
In the end the big difference between the teams wasn’t Wilkinson (he didn’t have one of his best games), it was that England played like they were in a knock out tournament, Australia played like it was just another test. The passion was there, just not the urgency, therefore the better team won.
It’ll be a very different match against the cheese eating surrender monkeys.

It’s been hilarious, in NZ, listening to these sheep shaggers blame everything from the constellation above us to the colour of my crap this morning for not beating the french….even the poor ole ref has copped it big style over the fact that they couldn’t pass wind, couldn’t score in a brothel and could’t live up to their self righteous “we’ve won it before a balls kicked” attitude.

    too arrogant

Well said Robin. There is plenty enough hatred in this world without bringing it into sport. Hate losing to England is fair comments. Lets face it. the Aussies are one of the greatest sports achieving nations on the planet. It’s a compliment to them that it means so much whenEngland beat them. Australia had the form (and as it turns out the complacency) England on the day had the passion and the will. The win had nothing to do with Wilko who underperformed by his own standards. England dominated in the scrum, were unlucky not to score a try and were (at last) a credit to their country. If you don’t believe this read the Aussie press who have, in the main, acknowledged that the best team won. I doubt the Aussies, Scots, Welsh, or Irish will be cheering for England against France, or South Africa/Argentina in the final if they make it. Who cares, we have enough support of our own to to make all the noise we need. You gotta be in it to win it…..and we’re still in it !!!

Who is that person (above) who said that without Jonny we wouldnt have won anything. Did you even watch the game? he was one of our worst players. he nailed 4 from 7 and missed plenty of tackles. you boys lost because the Aussies have no testosterone any more. too used to playing flag rugby on the beach and dancing around playing rugby league. you cant turn up to a world cup and expect to score 15 tries in every game cos you have the best backs - get some forwards who can at least strap on a pair and we’ll see in 2011. I feel sorry for the Aussie supporters who actually like rugby and came over to france to cheer their team on rather than you spineless morons who sit back in the comfort of your crappy houses jumping on whichever pommie bashing bandwaggon happens to be passing.

you are an embarressment to your country and to our sport.

It’s good to have a go at the Aussies particularly given the juvenile comments from John O’ Neill and the sledging of John Connelly, and I am delighted when we beat them at ANY sport but the plain fact is that the rest of the time we get on pretty well with them.

If you spend a fair amount of time messing round the world as I have done it’s usually an Aussie who turns out to be a pretty good traveling and drinking companion, and the first person to help you out when you are in trouble in a strange city ( I still dream about the Sheila that dragged me out of a Bangkok briothel when things turned nasty at around 3 A M! ) So I am glad we won but I still will be pleased to argue like buggery with them and even have a drink of their bloody tasteless beer when we meet..

Going back over the years i used to respect the Aussies mentality, that win or die trying attitude, but that performance was just weak and pretty gutless for all the spouting off they did before hand. After the last world cup it was probably a year and most people stopped the digs at the Australians but not this time…have some of your own medicine, then see you in 4 years again…wasters.

The loss to England says a lot more about the average Aussie/Ab supporter than the English. All recognized that based on current form the southern hemisphere teams would do well. The problem with form is it does not mean diddly to the game on the day, being insulted, ridiculed and arrogantly claiming that we will win by x,z,y points tends to focus the oppositions minds. As does knowing deep down that the sides from the Northern hemisphere have quality players as well. Reading the pile of bilge before said games, (and yes, bile) shows a fundamental difference, If England celebrate success it tends to come from a scarcity of it, Aussie and NZ supporters seem to have an inbuilt abuse button bordering on racism about England and the worlds biggest supply of sour grapes about losing. You keep on being arrogant and myopic, and every time you lot come a cropper I and others revel in your pain, because your pain is self inflicted. Blame everybody and everything but yourselves for your teams failings, come back again in four years and try not to choke again please. Will you have enough NZ paramedics or rugby grounds for that matter to cope with the demand! Jonny had a lousy kicking game, which the Aussies claimed to to be our only decent player, but one Jonny still managed to beat all of Australia! ha ha

Australia deserve everything they get, there the worlds biggest big heads when their winning and the worst losers in the world. Being a Pom in Australia when we beat them is sweet - makes up for everything they dish out. Australia doesn’t deserve any respect, their arrogant big heads and baby losers who bring it all on themselves, a racist cricket team and an arrogant rugby team, who always blame everyone but themselves. As it said in the UK press so sweetly, SCREW ROO!
