IRB Announce Annual Player, Team and Coach of the Year Awards
The International Rugby Board have announced their annual awards. They have announced their Player of the year, together with team and coach of the year awards a few days after the Rugby World Cup 2007.
It has been a clean sweep for South Africa with all three awards going to the Springboks.
IRB Player of the year: Bryan Habana - South African Wing
IRB Coach of the year: Jake White - South African Coach
IRB Team of the year: South Africa - Winners of the Rugby World Cup.
South Africa have deserved all three of these awards without a doubt. They have also moved to the world rugby ranking number 1 spot.
The awards come as South Africa have been undefeated throughout the Rugby World Cup 2007. Bryan Habana scored 8 tries during the Rugby World Cup - Equalling Jona Lomu’s Record in 1999.
Finally Jake White has turned the Springboks into the IRB Rugby World Cup Champions.
