Match Summary:
The Springboks came out looking the strong to start off the match and were awarded a penalty in the second minute. Montgomery failed to score the kick.
At 7 minutes on the clock the Boks received another penalty which Francois Steyn managed to score. With some constant pressure The Boks managed to score a try in the 13th minute by Jacques Fourie - The man who did all the talking before this game.
The half time score was South Africa 13-3 Fiji.
Fiji came out looking stronger in the second half and while being a player down they managed to score two tries within 2 minutes to level the score at 20-20, a major upset seems immenent.
South Africa managed to kick a penalty kick to get the score up to 23-20 but then Fiji’s big break came and Rawaqa managed to cross the tryline with the ball, but as he did so JP Pietersen managed to tackle him while in the air, forcing the Fijian player to lose control of the ball and failed to score the try.
South Africa’s Springboks managed to gain momentum once again and managed to take control over the match.
The performance by the Springboks was far from great, and will have to pick up their game-play if they fancy winning their Semi-Final match against Argentina or Scotland.
